Spirited, jazzy, retro, soulful, award-winning group VERONNEAU defy categorization. At the core, the husband-and-wife duo - Quebecoise vocalist Lynn Veronneau and UK guitarist Ken Avis - translate the themes of their musical journeys into captivating multilingual performances with original songs and classics from the worlds of bossa nova, French chanson, folk, blues and pop.
VERONNEAU delights through Lynn’s spectacular voice, her heartfelt and artful delivery of the lyrics and through Ken’s brilliant and vibrant playfulness on the guitar. They play off one another, carefully choosing songs for their powerful melodies and imagery. They have built a devoted following through tours, performing in international festivals, legendary clubs and intimate theaters. VERONNEAU have toured in Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Sweden, the UK, USA and Canada, appearing live on BBC radio, and at prestige venues such as Kennedy Center, Strathmore, The Hamilton, as well as festivals such as the DC Jazz Fest, and the Florida Folk & Acoustic Music Fest
VERONNEAU are constantly expanding their sound. Their music defies categorization. Since releasing their 2011 debut album “Joie De Vivre/Joy of Living”, which includes their hit “La Mer”, streamed over a million times on Spotify, they have released four Top 10 charting studio albums, which have featured in US Top 10 charts for Jazz, World and Folk music genres. On stage VERONNEAU is fresh, fun, beautiful, and elegant.
In recent years they have been honored to be Artists in Residence at the legendary Blues Alley in Washington DC, and have performed alongside headliners like Samara Joy and Gregory Porter, Livingston Taylor and John McCutcheon on festival stages. Their music took another twist in 2025 with the release of a stripped-back, bossa nova inspired version of “Friday I’m in Love” the ‘90’s hit by British indie band The Cure. The video of the single racked up almost 50K YouTube views with just a couple of months. Most recently, their “Blue Tapestry” album celebrating Joni Mitchell and Carol King, has been a hit on both folk and jazz radio - while their “Blue Tapestry” show presenting the album in songs and stories has been performed to rave reviews.
In the USA mid-Atlantic area they've earned 7 WAMMIE awards for Best Vocals, Band and Recording Artists, and their original compositions have been recognized at the MASC songwriting competition, most recently winning the Gold Award for Blues and Jazz song.
